Nippon Paint Sri Lanka Receives Eco-Labelling Certification for Full Range of Water Based Paints

Overview
Nippon Paint Sri Lanka has been awarded the Eco Label Sri Lanka certification, becoming the first paint manufacturer in Sri Lanka to achieve this recognition. This certification validates that Nippon Paint products are environmentally responsible, safe for human health, and ethically produced.
What is Eco Label Sri Lanka?
The NCPC Sri Lanka Ecolabeling program has initiated under 10YFP Consumer Information for Sustainable Consumption and Production (CI-SCP) program in 2018. This program started with the training workshop conducted by UN Environment Programme for 25 participants from NCPC-SL and other stakeholder organizations on developing and implementing Eco Labelling programme in Sri Lanka under this project. Resource persons were from the UN Environment Programme and the Eco Mark Office of Japan Environment Association.
NCPC Ecolabelling Programme is the first national green product certification scheme and the most successful and influential ecolabelling program in Sri Lanka. All NCPC Ecolabel standards include comprehensive sustainability criteria related to the environment, human health, social issues, and fitness for purpose.

Opportunities for Sustainable Products Development Expanding with International Frameworks

Nippon Paint’s latest innovation, Aqua Proof 7-in-1, is a specially formulated waterproofing paint that forms a high-performance protective layer. In addition to excellent water-repellent properties, the protective layer fills hairline cracks and small holes to help prevent the absorption of moisture.
