Nippon Paint Holdings Integrated Report Selected for Best Practice Award in Integrated Report Award 2021

Nippon Paint Holdings Co., Ltd. is announcing that its Integrated Report 2021 has been selected for the Best Practice Award of the Integrated Report Award 2021 organized by Nikko Research Center, Inc. (NRC).
NRC established the Integrated Report Award in 2019 with the goal of raising awareness of excellent integrated reports. Our Integrated Report was selected from among all the integrated reports evaluated by NPC for the Best Practice Award in 2021 as the best report for meeting the needs of investors.

Our Integrated Report received this recognition mainly for the following reasons.

• The report received a high rating overall: Of the seven items that were evaluated by NRC, the report was rated A in three items (Message from Management, Business Model, and Corporate Governance) and B in one item.
• The report explains that the Nippon Paint Group’s competitiveness is underpinned by its powerful brands and marketing capabilities that enabled the Group to capture the number one market share in Asia. In addition, the Message from Management explains the growth strategy, important issues identified by management, and actions taken to address these issues. This message clearly conveys management philosophies and the personalities of the management team.
• The report provides much information that is not in the Annual Securities Report. For instance, the report starts with a Message from Management that draws in readers and has Discussions by the Board of Directors about the election process for the President and the protection of the interests of minority shareholders as a report to shareholders.

We will continue to improve our Integrated Report and strengthen engagement with shareholders, investors, and stakeholders in Japan and overseas.
