Nippe Home Products Co., Ltd., a group company of Nippon Paint Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Chairman, President and CEO: Masaaki Tanaka), which handles paints for DIY and home use, will start sales of “PROTECTON Interior Wall VK-200 for DIY” (hereinafter, "the product"), an indoor use anti-viral and anti-bacterial water-based paint using a visible light-responsive photocatalyst in today through NIPPE HOME ONLINE^*in Japan.

The product has improved workability and ease of application, and is available in adequate volume at affordable prices for ordinary households. A visible light-responsive photocatalyst contained in the product reacts with indoor light, thereby suppressing viruses and bacteria adhering to the paint layer surface by 99%^* Since the product has little odor, it can be used safely indoors.

Nippon Paint Holdings Co., Ltd. launched "PROTECTON" as a product brand of anti-viral and anti-bacterial products in September 2020.
