First announcement of Takt, the FY2023 concept color
—New colors for automotive coatings and decorative film

Nippon Paint Automotive Coatings Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Hirakata-City, Osaka; “NPAC”; President and Representative Director: Satoshi Nishimura, hereinafter referred to as the Company), a group company of Nippon Paint Holdings Co., Ltd., which produces automotive coatings, today announced Takt as its concept color towards the automobile market for FY2023. The Company announces a concept color every year with the aim of widely conveying the appeal of colors from the perspective of a paint manufacturer for future automobile designs to the automobile industry, which is undergoing a once-in-a-century period of major change. In order to correspond to various vehicle types including EVs, Takt, this fiscal year's concept, consists of the following three categories: UNISON, AMBIENT, and SHUFFLE. In addition, it is a unique color palette that incorporates the Company’s decorative film technologies and simultaneously realizes the desired design while also being environmentally-friendly.

◆Takt concept
Looking ahead to a world in which we can more freely chose time, space, and environment, the concept contains the message of expanding our world while being in harmony with the environment, and weaving our place and time while utilizing numerous tools!

◆Three categories of Takt
・UNISON: Expression of color and texture while keeping comfort and the basics in mind in preparation for micro mobility and compact EVs.
・AMBIENT: Color variation that responds to changes in the surrounding environment and different scenes, taking further diversification of usage into consideration, for an SUV that offers greater interior comfort and multi-purpose use.
・SHUFFLE: A world view that combines an image expanded by entertainment and sportiness that changes in virtual space for a sports-type vehicle.

Aiming to become the leading company in the automotive coatings business, NPAC will contribute to the development of a society abundant with color by providing human-centered color proposals that capture the changes of times.
