3.Organizational change of the Japan segment
Following the 2015 company split along business lines, each partner company within the Japan segment has experienced autonomous growth. However, the individual companies face challenges due to the absence of robust marketing and sales functions necessary for further growth. Particularly, businesses requiring collaborative efforts across existing segments encounter difficulties in promoting activities that transcend organizational barriers. In light of this situation, we have established the role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Japan Group. The CCO will oversees sales functions in a cross-functional manner, aiming to establish a framework for sales promotion activities that enable us to promptly and adeptly navigate the evolving market landscape. In the marine business, which caters to clients worldwide, we are appointing the first female and foreign national president within our partner companies in Japan, marking a historic milestone in our 142-year Group history. This strategic move is aimed at accelerating growth in international markets. Furthermore, other partner company presidents will take on concurrent roles across functions at various partner companies, establishing an organizational framework that fosters united efforts within the Japan segment, enabling efficient and rapid pursuit of growth objectives.
