The History and Global Footprint of the Nippon Paint Group
The Nippon Paint Group has its roots in a commitment to solving social challenges—a belief inherited from our founder, Jujiro Moteki. In 1879, in response to the widespread problem of lead poisoning caused by face powder in Japan at that time, we became the first company in Japan to successfully manufacture non-toxic zinc oxide.
The history of the Nippon Paint Group began in 1881, with the establishment of our predecessor, Komyosha, in Mita, Tokyo. This area of the showroom introduces both our history and our global footprint through a timeline tracing our development from founding to the present day, as well as presentations on the countries and regions where we operate, our major overseas group companies, our corporate videos, television commercials currently aired in various countries, and more.
