Overview

On May 17, 2026, Alina Group held its annual eco-festival, “Clean Homeland,” in Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city. The event, one of the company’s flagship sustainability initiatives, has now been held for 23 consecutive years.

This year, a total of 400 employees and their family members participated, collecting eight tons of waste, half of which was sent for recycling. For the first time in the festival’s history, a waste sorting system was also introduced, separating plastic, glass, and other recyclable materials for subsequent processing.

Strengthening ESG Initiatives Across Environmental and Social Dimensions

While previous editions of “Clean Homeland” primarily focused on site cleanup activities and team building, this year’s event was significantly expanded with a stronger ESG focus. By incorporating environmental education, social engagement, and family participation, the initiative broadened its scope beyond cleanup activities.

Following the cleanup, participants took part in an environmental quiz. Employees received sustainability-themed prizes, including Alina Group-branded sustainable merchandise and houseplants purchased from elderly women selling flowers on the street. The selection of prizes also reflected the concepts of conscious consumption and support for socially vulnerable members of the community.

Creating Opportunities for Families to Think About the Environment Together

Ahead of the event, a drawing contest was also held for employees’ children, with the final exhibition, titled “I Care About Nature,” presented at the festival.

By providing children with opportunities to think about nature and the environment and express their ideas through creative activities, the initiative has evolved beyond cleanup activities into an opportunity to raise environmental awareness among both employees and their families.

Promoting Environmental Education and Social Support Through Partnerships

Event partner Hello Eco introduced participants to practical recycling methods and showcased products made from recycled materials. The participation of ARDI Center further strengthened the social dimension of the event.

At a creative workshop organized by the center, children with special support needs made handmade items, which visitors could purchase to support the foundation.

From Community Cleanup to a Comprehensive ESG Initiative

This year’s “Clean Homeland” evolved beyond a community cleanup day into a comprehensive ESG initiative that brought together environmental responsibility, team spirit, family values, and social impact.
